Aloe Vera the plant for the medicine cabinet

Writer's picture: Louisette and PeterLouisette and Peter

The Aloe Vera is a must have plant for every household especially with kids around. The gel in the leaves is great for cuts, scrapes, burns, sun burns and insect bites. It soothes and gives instant relieve.

The plants are super easy to take care of, as long as you take the following precautions;

In the spring, after danger of frost has past, put them outside and water and fertilize like the planters on the patio, could be every day. In the fall you bring them in the house and set them in a bright sunny window and no more water until spring. As you can see in the pictures they look good after 3 month of no water. By the middle of March you can slowly start giving some and get them hydrated by May so they can go outside. Do take care to slowly acclimatize to the higher light level of the full sun.
