A georges morning

Writer's picture: Louisette and PeterLouisette and Peter

This morning it was so peaceful in the garden, it looked so good full of produce growing.

In the afternoon Louisette and I went in and picked 2 big pails of produce, green and yellow beans at the prime of their existence, nice and thin long and beautiful in color. Then the slicing pole beans had a meal or two. On to the French pole beans the first meal of the season. We are impressed by how they look and what is still coming. These are the first pole beans we ever grew and they will be back next year. The only problem we have is some leaf burn from the strong winds we get off the Petitcodiac River.

We had hoped to have our first sweet corn today but they have to wait a little longer. Walking by we also seen that we have to get some beets. Some are quite big and they have to come out so the little once get room to grow. Same as the carrots I like to seed a little thick and thin them out over the season I think I get more out of a patch and not all at the same time.

We took the first planting of beans out, nothing on them anymore and I will pant some fall crops in their space. I did leave the roots in the ground so I would not disturb the soil.
