We had a late snowfall overnight but the temperature in the forecast is to rise. The broad beans and peas like to get started in the cooler weather.
We had started them in late February in the house to germinate and moved them then to the cool greenhouse to harden off.
The garden is a no dig garden with a good layer of compost on top. We have had some warmer temperatures and the frost is almost out of the ground. It was good enough to make a hole, plop the plants in and press them in to the ground.
Once the snow is gone I will put some fleece on the plants to protect them from the wind and elements, until they are starting to grow when the weather is nice in May.
