Perennial seeds

Writer's picture: Louisette and PeterLouisette and Peter

Today Louisette and I are seeding in the greenhouse. We are putting a lot of varieties of perennials in the ground. There are quite a few very small seeds they are just sprinkled on top and pressed in the ground. The bigger seeds we cover with a thin layer of soil. Crazy things like Rheum Australis, a very big leaved rhubarb, strictly for ornamental purpose. Pampas grass one that is not winter hardy here but I will plant them in large planters and that way they can overwinter inside and lots more. The seeding’s from earlier in the week are coming up nicely they don’t have to be under the plastic anymore and can start to harden off.
