Today when I was in the flower garden I took some pictures of the plants that are starting to bloom the first one is Lobelia Cardinalis a perennial so it comes back every year. The intense red is just striking and up to 4’ high a nice one in the back of the border. The second is from the corn flower family. Its striking yellow color and flower that attract lots of bees and other beneficial insects makes it a great one to have in the garden. It starts to bloom now when a lot of the spring perennials are just bloomed out. The third is Echinops bannaticus its steel blue color and round form of the flower is very unusual. Then we get the dinner plate Dahlia the flower is the size of a diner plate like the name says. The stems of this dahlia are impressive just like the flower. Heugera is now a days grown strictly for the leaves but here the flowers are nice and dainty. This is a nice hydrangea great color with a single row of petal flowers around the outside and buds in the center very attractive.

And then one of the many humming birds we have around the feeders there are many fights they are territorial just fun to watch when we sit on the veranda.
