Especially now in the winter, we long for fresh vegetables and bean sprouts is an easy crop to do. We have a small plastic container that we use and it sits in a cupboard under the counter. You start by spreading mung beans out and make them wet you can do it on a piece of paper towel in a container that is 3” high. Let the water run out. Every day make them wet again but never in standing water. After 4 to 5 days you can harvest your crop and start a new one. The seeds are easy to get just go to the bulk barn and get a pound it will last you a year.
We eat them as a snack, or on salads, eggs, stir-fry etc.
