The Thai Basil got a little ahead of us and started to show the flowers. When you cut them back now you will find that they sprout out readily and give you still lots of basil all fall long. With basil the more you cut the more it will give you. If you let it go to seed it will stop growing and you only get kind of woody leaves and stems.
We separated the flowers from the leaves. The Flowers are not as potent for taste as the leaves, but they are good for drying and can be used for tea.
The leaves we cut up small and put them with olive oil in ice cube trays and in the freezer so we can use it all winter.
