What is happening in the garden

Writer's picture: Louisette and PeterLouisette and Peter

We had a nice rain last night and the temperature finally starts to look like early spring here in the New Brunswick. So I could plant some of my transplants out. The once that can stand the cold.

So far we have the garlic that I planted last fall. Earlier I planted the brought beans red beets pepper grass and radishes. This morning I planted; spinach, red romaine lettuce, green lettuce, salad Burnett, and some more spinach.

I also planted some of them in our cold frame. I hope with the extra heat they will come earlier. As you can see the spinach was planted two weeks ago and next week we will pick our first leaves for a salad. We had already corn salad that was seeded last fall.

The kohlrabi and leeks were from last fall to. We will pick leaves for the salad off the kohlrabi and maybe we will get some bulbs early. It was an experiment.
